Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Time

Preperation: Approximately 15 minutes

Baking: Approximately 25-30 minutes at 350°F (175°C)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan, melt the butter. Allow it to cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the butter-sugar-egg mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a small amount for sprinkling on top if desired.
  8. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  9. If desired, sprinkle some additional chocolate chips on top of the batter.
  10. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the brownies. If it comes out with a few moist crumbs, they are ready. Be careful not to overbake, as it can result in dry brownies.
  11. Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the baking dish for a while before cutting into squares.

Enjoy your delicious homemade chocolate brownies! You can serve them as is or with a scoop of ice cream, powdered sugar dusting, or any other desired toppings.
