Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Time
Preperation: Approximately 15 minutes
Baking: Approximately 25-30 minutes at 350°F (175°C)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan, melt the butter. Allow it to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the butter-sugar-egg mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a small amount for sprinkling on top if desired.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- If desired, sprinkle some additional chocolate chips on top of the batter.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the brownies. If it comes out with a few moist crumbs, they are ready. Be careful not to overbake, as it can result in dry brownies.
- Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the baking dish for a while before cutting into squares.
Enjoy your delicious homemade chocolate brownies! You can serve them as is or with a scoop of ice cream, powdered sugar dusting, or any other desired toppings.
